Wedding tips to save money

Everyone knows that food is one of the biggest costs at a wedding. If you give it careful thought there are ways to cut down on this cost that will make everybody happy and it will still be a wonderful occasion.
Why not go for something like chicken instead of beef and simpler vegetables like broccoli instead of asparagus to help cut the costs.
If you have your function during the week rather than at the weekend this will cut costs considerably. Or perhaps have a luncheon instead of an evening function. People tend to eat lighter food during the day and drink less alcohol.
What about cutting out a course - have three courses instead of four. Especially if you are having a reception beforehand.
Why not talk to your caterer about trying to cut corners and save money. Talk to them about what is the most economical way of doing things.
Always make sure you ask about discounts for children. Usually children under 12 you can save up to 50 per cent discount. They usually do something different for the children's table which is more appealing for them and on smaller plates.
If you go for plated meals people tend to eat less than when you serve a buffet meal.
